Communication
The
Internet builds bridges, connecting and bringing people closer
together: locally at the office and world-wide. There are now many tools available which simplify
and improve communication and co-operation in business; Groupware, telephony and VoIP are just a few of these.
But many of these systems are still based on proprietary technology. Thus this central piece of infrastructure is often a 'black box'; susceptible to errors and frequently requiring IT technicians to solve problems.
Solutions based on open source software offer the benefit of transparency. Their security is understandable. They are expandable and guarantee investment security -- even in uncertain times.
