Supported Firewall Projects

Dansguardian Support & Consultancy

DansGuardian is an award winning Open Source web content filter which currently runs on Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, Mac OS X, HP-UX, and Solaris. It filters the actual content of pages based on many methods including phrase matching, PICS filtering and URL filtering. It does not purely filter based on a banned list of sites like lesser totally commercial filters. DansGuardian is designed to be completely flexible and allows you to tailor the filtering to your exact needs. It can be as draconian or as unobstructive as you want. The default settings are geared towards what a primary school might want but DansGuardian puts you in control of what you want to block. credativ supports DansGuardian on the following platforms: Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, Mac OS X and Solaris.

Ferm Support & Consultancy

ferm is a tool to maintain complex firewalls, without having the trouble to rewrite the complex rules over and over again. ferm allows the entire firewall rule set to be stored in a separate file, and to be loaded with one command. The firewall configuration resembles structured programming languages, which can contain levels and lists.

iptables Support & Consultancy

iptables is the userspace command-line tool used to configure packet filtering under Linux 2.4 and 2.6. Every firewalling solution for Linux is based in some way upon this tool.

Shorewall Support & Consultancy

Shorewall is a high-level tool for configuring iptables rules. It is a straightforward way of setting up a firewall.Shorewall is mainly used in network installations (as opposed to a personal computer firewall), since most of its strength lies in its ability to work with "zones", such as the DMZ or a 'net' zone. Each zone would then have different rules, making it easy to have for example relaxed rules on the company intranet, yet clamp down on traffic coming in from the internet.
